A reverse angle from yesterday’s post. I’m starting to wonder if this really is The UP’s bedroom or perhaps his parents? Those pictures over the wall definitely don’t look like something that would hang in a teenager’s room, even if it was the 1950’s.
Here we have the same scene as the first photo in this series, this time in the daylight. Much better view of the TV. Would love to know what make it is. I can’t find any brand name on it though. Looks a lot like this Zenith here.
I like this one! Very well composed & lit. Looks like a nice part of the house. Still has that ghastly woodgrain paneling, but I’m sure at the time that was probably the height of fashion.
I had such hopes when I saw the mirror in this shot. Hopes that I might get a glimpse of The UP himself/herself. It’ wasn’t to be, though. ): Seriously, the self-portrait-in-the-mirror is something every photographer does at least once. I’m hoping I’ll find one somewhere in the box.
Scanned a strip of negatives last night. All but one of them were the of this room from different angles and at different times of day.
That is one neato home entertainment center! I know it’s hard to make out details in this photo, but it’s a combination radio/phonograph. I thought it was a TV set at first, but the screen is too small, the wrong shape, & it isn’t the center of the room as a TV usually is. Wonder what that thing would sound like?
