1950’s Home Interior #6/7

More of that awful paneling!  Yuck!!

That carpet is rather interesting, too.  Wonder what color it was?

Not sure it that’s a reflection or light leak in the upper right.  A ghost, maybe?

    I think that kind of panelling was made from pine wood. The house I grew up in had it in the basement. It was rather nice for the basement as it created a feeling of light and a sense of being in a den. That basement only had small windows at the front and the back.

    The furniture isn’t too bad. I think the room would look better without the wood panelling.

    It was. Knotted pine, I think they called it. I remember when I was growing up, one of our neighbors had it their living room. Their house was probably built about the same time this one was. I’m sure it was the in thing to have back then.

    No, the furniture isn’t bad at all. It’s been so long now, it’s almost trendy again! (:
