As good as it’s gonna get.

This negative was scratched, dirty, and folded up like a taco when I pulled it out of the box.  Tried my best to flatten it out before scanning, but to no avail.  Ended up taping it to the negative carrier, but as the newton ring in the top corner shows, it still wouldn’t lie flat.  That this photo looks as good as it does is a testament to modern technology.  My scanner did a great job bringing out the detail & the “Restore Fading” button I found in Vuescan worked wonders at digitally removing 50 years of grime.

The woman on the right makes her second appearance on this blog.  She was accompanied by what I assume to be her two children in the photo I posted on June 24th.
