A River Runs Through It

More like a creek, actually.

This is another example of the ravages of time ruining what would otherwise have been a good picture.  Wish I could have done more to rescue this one, but it was beyond my limited skills.

Down on the Farm

This scene could be anywhere in Central or Eastern North Carolina.  Could have been right down the road from where I grew up, in fact.  Those barns are almost as numerous as the pine trees.  That water tower in the background is fairly common, too.

The Pond

Some interesting details here!  For instance, what is that white thing in the background?  A boat?  Albino bear?  Enormous pig?

And that wheel in the foreground?  Pump?  Who knows?

There was apparently a chemical spill during the development of this strip of negatives.  It destroyed about three frames & stained a few others.  That’s why there’s that splotch in the lower left.  Too bad, as it ruined a fairly idyllic pasture scene.

Our mysterious, barely visible through all the scratches, school teacher looking lady is back!  This time with a smile on her face!  I can almost hear The UP directing her: “Aunt Hildy!  Stop scowling at the camera!” (:

Pontoon plane

Looks like an old Piper Cub to me.

I’m guessing The UP took this at an airshow.  There are a few other pics of airplanes on this roll that you’ll see in the next few days.
