Least I think it’s Gen. Washington. Hard to tell for sure & all those guys from the 18th Century look alike from a distance.

I’m assuming this is in Jamestown or Williamsburg. Don’t know of any statues like this in Durham.

Pocahontas

I did a quick Google search on “Pocahontas Statue” & got this hit from Gravesend, Kent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravesend, Kent.  It says the statue was erected in Jamestown, VA in 1922 and a replica was erected Gravesend later.  However, the Jamestown statue isn’t on a pedestal like this one.  I suppose it could have been moved at a later date.

I should take another stab at scanning this.  Don’t think the negative was lying flat, which is why the top half of the picture is out of focus.
